How to Get Quality Sleep, Every Night: The Best Routine to Help Ensure a Good Night’s Sleep

Settling in for your nighttime routines looks different for everybody, everyone has different habits and needs at night but here are a few tips to help you get the best quality sleep possible.

Separate your workspace and the bedroom, bringing your laptop into bed, or finishing up case notes on your pillow triggers your brain into thinking your bed is now a workspace. Leave the work at work or at your home office, your bedroom is a place for relaxation and tranquility, make sure your brain knows this as well.

Limit your screen time before bed. While it may seem simple, removing technology time from your nighttime routine is key in helping your mind wind down and detach from the day. Instead of scrolling your phone or watching a late-night show; pick up a book or listen to a podcast instead, this will help your brain start to relax as you prepare to sleep.

Build a schedule you can stick to, and know that it takes most people about a half hour to fall asleep, give yourself time to ensure you get 6-8 hours a night. Going to sleep and waking up at the same time every day helps your body get accustomed to a good sleep routine. Sleep is one of the healthiest habits we can develop to increase our overall health and stress levels. Make sure your sleep environment is quiet and dark, and invest in a mattress that is the most comfortable for you.
